My son, Alexander had his PSLE last year, after which, as we all know, needed to decide on which secondary school to go to.
After much consideration and prayers, we felt that God was directing us to apply for this school in the Upper Serangoon area. However there is one problem and that is transportation.

We live in Bedok which is at least a half an hour's drive to the school. And moreover, it would be impossible for me to drive him on a daily basis. But the voice from God for this school was really clear and so by faith Alex was placed there. By faith I also asked God to sort the transportation out.

Just before school started in January, I went to the bus stop outside the school to check out the bus situation.To my dismay, I could only see one bus service that would bring him to the East Coast area, after which he would still need to take another two buses home. So that would make it a total of three buses on a daily basis over the next few years! Not only that, Alex would need to cross over an 8-lane cross junction ( 4 lane each side) to the bus stop opposite the school. I told God , " This can't be your plans for him!".

Desperate time calls for desperate measures. When I got home, I immediately consulted the SBS website. Dear friends, I cannot believe the results that appeared on my computer screen at first. It said -" Walk to the next bus stop ( on the same side of the road ) and take bus no 45 direct". To me, this is a miracle! Why? Because for the longest time, there was only two buses serving my area in Bedok and a third bus (no 45) was added just a few months ago.

God really, really knows it all.He had it all planned for his children. I thank God for his providence and faithfulness. Hallelujah! Proverbs 3:5 says:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight."
Amen to that!

I fell seriously ill last December and as a result was admitted to Changi General hospital for treatment.

While I lay stricken and feeling very downhearted. an elderly patient, who was on the next bed, passed away. At that moment, fear gripped me as I began to feel as though something bad was heading towards me. And just as I was feeling so helpless, I felt a warm, comforting hand resting on my shoulder, reassuring me. I immediately recognize that it was the hand of my Lord Jesus. He spoke to me, telling me not to be afraid for He will not let anything bad harm me. He told me to sleep and soon after I did just that.

Then on New Year's Eve, I experienced the Lord again. That night, I had difficulty sleeping and was awake for a long time. Then, out of the blue, I saw the curtain surrounding my bed slowly rising on its own. It was raised high enough that I could see the other patients . However I couldn't see any one else raising the curtain. Then the Lord Jesus appeared before me. This time He was dressed in a robe with the most beautiful shade of purple I have ever seen. But I could not see his face at all.He welcomed me into the new year. I asked Jesus to let me see his face but He said that it was not time yet for me to see his face After that, he was gone.

I want to share this with all of you as this is a real and true account of what happened. I thank my Lord for his wonderful love for me and for being so real towards me. I am indeed very blessed to have these personal encounters . I am also now healed of this illness. Praise the Lord for ever and ever. Amen.

Testimony of Josephine Wang


Hi, my name is Josephine and I would like to share with all of you God's faithfulness and lovingkindness in my life.I have a six year old daughter, Angelina, who will be in primary one next year. As such, I would need to register her in a school this August. In my heart, I really wanted her to be in Geylang Methodist Primary School, which is a popular school. As my daughter's registration was under phase 2C, I knew that her chances of getting a place there would be very slim, judging by the past years' record. However, I still wanted to give it a try.I started praying to God to take care of Angel's case. I prayed that God will place her in a school that He wants her to be in . And I also let God know the desire of my heart . I have total faith in Him that He will do what is best. On my part, I put away all anxieties that my natural self would have, for I really believe that my God take care of Angel. My family members, who were more anxious than me, advise me to start thinking of alternative schools to go to. All I said to them was that everything will be alright.Shortly after that, I received a letter from the school that my daughter was accepted into GMPS. I was overjoyed ! God has come through for me for He has heard my prayer. I truly serve a faithful God who said in Proverbs 16:3 :-"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." Christopher Chuah's testimony about his father's illness


On 12 July, my father who had just returned from an overseas trip to Taipei , complained of chest pains. We had initially thought that this was due to gastric flu. However, I sensed something was not right and pressed my Dad to go to the A & E department. He was subsequently admitted to the A & E department in SGH and was found to have symptomatic abdominal aortic aneurysm. That same evening, my family had also contacted my sister June Chuah and she agreed to fly back from Uruguay to Singapore. Before June's arrival, emergency surgery was done to repair the aneurysm in SGH but he developed severe complications following the surgery. His heart stopped beating and CPR was needed postoperatively. At that time when my Dad's heart stopped beating, my family and I were distraught when the phone call came informing us of the same. I immediately called Pastor William who prayed for him immediately. A short while later, we received news that the doctors managed to revive his heart. Whilst my dad recovered from that episode,he developed renal failure requiring dialysis and another serious complication - his left colon developed ischemia and perforated as a complication from the initial surgery. This in turn required another surgery by the colorectal team on 25th July. During this time, my father was in a coma. However, many people from the church and New Life Community Church , my relatives from Trinity Methodist Church and my sister's friends from other churches came down daily to minister to my dad and pray for his recovery and salvation. My dad gradually recovered and regained mental consciousness and lucidity. For a while, he was making steady progress in recovery.
However, around 345 am on Monday morning 12 August, we were again summoned by the hospital staff at the ICU to come down to see my dad quickly as they had discovered internal bleeding in him and my dad was critically ill. We were told to brace ourselves for the worst. Again, God's gracious hand intervened and my dad's life was preserved. My sister and I sensed the burden to travail more intensively for my dad and in the weeks which ensued, many of our brothers and sisters in Christ also joined in standing in the gap for my father. It was during this period that my father finally gave his life to Christ.I had shared the gospel in Mandarin with my dad and he acknowledged and confirmed that he had embraced Christ as his Savior. On 4 September, just three days prior to his death, my sister had again sought confirmation from him whilst he was lucid that he had accepted Christ and he nodded his head in agreement.
On reflection, we could clearly discern God's sovereign hand and grace on my Dad's life. He could have been taken away the first day on 13 July when his heart stopped but he was not saved. Again, purely by his grace, mercy and compassion, God preserved his life after the internal bleeding started on 12 August and gave us the opportunity to minister and impart the Word to him.
During this period, the Lord gave me a word of encouragement and hope from Lamentations 3:21-23. I heard this one night as I was driving back from the hospital on Hope107 FM where a lady was sharing about a similar incident in her life involving her husband.


Lamentations 3 :21 - 23
"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."


Truly, our God is a faithful God. He had preserved my Dad's life for 58 days so that we could minister and share the gospel with him. We are comforted and heartened by the fact that he has now gone to a better place with the Lord where there is no more suffering and pain. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Testimony from Lilian

"In 2002, i was diagnosed with a rare cancer that started in my kidneys and then spread to my lungs. Apparently, very few Singaporeans have been diagnosed with this condition. One of the side effects was that the skin on my cheeks would get flushed.and looked burned. I underwent a series of chemotherapy to fight the spread of the cancer cells in my body. It was a long and difficult process to undergo,and I was in a continually weak for a long time. I was a patient at theNational Kidney Foundation Cancer Fund, and it was there that I met Chris Chuah,who was the committee chairman then. He invited me to NLCC's Christmas Service in 2006, and I visited the church with my husband,. At my request, the church leaders prayed for meand for healing of my condition. Just two months ago, I paid one of my regular visits to my doctor atthe National Cancer Centre. He told me he was stopping my cancer treatment. I was surprised, and even more so when he told me why. Hesaid it was because I was completely healed. I was stunned. I hardlyexpected to hear this. When I look back, I can only say that it was God who healed me,who brought about a drastic remission in the cancer cells. A few days later, I asked Jesus to come into my life as Lord and Saviour."

Testimony on Church Camp Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 09/06/2007 – 12/06/2007 by Shuhui


This camp was such an adventure as I lost my passport. So, this had totally spices up my whole trip. For the past few months my relationship with God was not good. That morning before I left my house I prayed to God that He will let me experience Him again in this camp. A few hours later, when I reached my hotel room, I realised that my passport was lost. Can you imagine? The moment I reached my hotel room, I haven't even unpack my luggage or start doing anything, the first thing that happened was my lost passport. It was the start of the adventure.

I have to thank God for the peace that He granted within me. Somehow, I was really calm and not running around like chickens with their heads chopped off. I prayed together with my sister and asked God to help us. And He really did. He showered upon us His goodness and favor in many ways. He brought many helpful people along our way to assist us. Like the hotel people, the immigration officers, taxi driver etc..

Also, I’m really thankful for the church family. Through this event, I really experienced the love of a family church. In Malaysia, I don't know anyone and the place. The only people I knew were the church people. When this thing happened, I wanted to look for help. We tried to lodge a police report at the nearest police station, but they were not adequate to help us. Some more, we don't even understand each other. They don't understand English and we totally don't understand their Malay too.. so it's more of a chicken and duck conversation.. haha.. Then they referred us to this special branch police station.

Feeling that we really should inform someone in church who knows KL more to at least advise or accompany us, we decided to approach Uncle Sean. Since my handphone died at the most crucial moment, we approached Shawn wanting to borrow her handphone. Not only did she lent her handphone to us, she even helped us to contact all the people that she could get hold on.. the bus company, the hotel management, our church people etc.. She even managed to get the hotel to get their staff and company car to bring us to special branch and back to the hotel.. I was amazed and really thankful for her going the extra mile.

Not only that, news spread like fire.. In just a couple of minutes, I think most of the church members there know about my situation. They will call to encourage us and being supportive. Serine called her siblings there to find out the directions for us; Uncle Sean was advising us on how to handle the situation and referring us to all the various people that could help.

Because of my lost passport, I had to go to the Singapore embassy and the KL immigration office to get emergency travel documents. Going to the embassy part wasn't that bad because it's still supposed to be considered as safe. But when the embassy told me to go the immigration office headquarters out of KL, I was a bit concerned. My sis and I don't know the place and some more it's out of the KL area and everything is in Malay. That moment, I prayed that God would grant us someone who knows Malay would be willing to make the trip with us. When we went back to the hotel to inform Serine hoping to get some advice from her, Carolyn stepped in and volunteered to go with us. At that point in time, I really cannot expressed how pleasantly surprised by her gesture and amazed that God answering my prayers. We went together with my sister. And God actually granted us a very honest and nice taxi driver who said that we can pay him on our way back to the hotel and he waited for us for more than 3 hours without any waiting charges! Can you imagine? You definitely won't be able to get that kind of thing in Singapore.

A lot more interesting things happened along the way. I guess what I truly experienced and learnt was the love that was showered upon me. Because the members supported me not just with words but also with actions. So, I really thankful for their love and concern. Though I was a bit apprehensive about approaching for help at first, God reminded me of Pastor William’s words about not to feel imposing upon others if I ever needed anything because we are a family. And in the family context, there isn’t such a thing as owing favors. God just answered to my request throughout the whole event. Everything was quite smooth and He brought me safely back to Singapore.

So, just want to share His goodness with you too. We truly serve an amazing and awesome God!
